Description

Now here’s Heroes of 2012 in my opinion

#10 Yusei (Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s Manga)
“Show me what you’ve got!!”
While the anime series is over, the Manga is still going. Yusei may have different cards than in the anime, but he still the toughest duelist around. Although, it won’t be until Ride 31 before he gets his ace card, which is Flashing Carat Dragon-Stardust. The manga version of Stardust Dragon.

#9 Kasumi (Dead or Alive 5)
“I am ready.”
Kasumi has changed both appearance and personality. In the previous games, she would usually avoid fights. But in DOA5, she will engage a fight (which is not a bad thing). She would have been higher on the list if weren’t for an “unexpected” event in Story Mode (For those that have played the game will know what I’m talking about). But I will give Team Ninja credit, that’s clever (sort of). And yes, she’s my favorite fighter to use in the game.

#8 Ghost Rider (GR: Spirit of Vengeance)
“Roadkill.”
The Spirit of Vengeance has once again proves that he can still kick demon ass. In addition to his motorcycle, he can literally change any vehicle into fire. That’s pretty cool. His appearance is a little different than last film (let alone the comics). Nevertheless, Ghost Rider is still a badass and even sends Roarke (Mephisto) back to Hell. Damn that’s cool.

#7 Mei Misaki (Another)
“I see the color of death.”
This girl may be mysterious, but there was defiantly more to her than just a girl with an eyepatch. Even though she was treated as an outcast by the other students, she didn’t mind and it didn’t took long before she became friends with Kouichi. It seems Mei is the only one that knew Mikami-Sensei/Reiko is the dead one while everyone else was either accusing her or each other (well not everyone, especially Kouichi). That’s smart suspicion there.

#6 Kouichi Sakakibara (Another)
“It’s over now, isn’t it?”
Kouichi may not look much compare to other badass characters I know, but his determination to find out who is the dead person and stop the calamity is strong. He was shocked to find that his aunt, Reiko, is not only his assistant homeroom teacher, Mikami-Sensei, but also the dead one. To see him offering himself to kill his own aunt and assistant homeroom teacher is horrific but at the same time it felt ironic.

#5 Spider-Man (The Amazing Spider-Man)
“You know if you’re going to steal cars, don’t dress like a car thief.”
Ah yes, my favorite wall crawler. Even though the film is a reboot, he still awesome as ever. Spidey’s outfit is different compare to the original, but it’s still cool. In the trilogy, his able shoot webs willing, but in the reboot, he made web shooters (just like in the 90’s cartoon). I’ve known Spider-Man since I was a kid and he is still Marvel’s well-known Superhero.

#4 Iron Man (The Avengers)
“We have a Hulk.”
Ever since his first film in 2008, Iron Man’s been on a roll. While he may be a rich boy player, but he still got what it takes to protect the earth and kick ass. One of coolest things he did in “The Avengers” is he took the missile that was about to hit the city and instead put it in the portal to destroy the main alien ship. That’s badass and a clever move.

#3 Grimlock (Transformers Fall of Cybertron)
“Cesium salami!”
He’s like Godzilla in Transformers (aside Trypticon). He is the leader of a group of Autobots called “Dinobots”. He is one of the strongest Autobots around. So much so, that his strength rivals both Optimus and Megatron. Even though he questions Optimus’s leadership, he still fights for what is right and even destroys Shockwave’s identical tower. Grimlock may be a hothead, but his capable of doing devastating damage to the Decepticons.

#2 Death (Darksiders II)
“My brother, War… I would protect him above all.”
Normally, Death is after us. But in Darksiders II, he wants to restore humanity. The reason why he did this is to prove his brother’s innocence. When he reached the Well of Souls, he chose humanity over his own kind the Nephilim to protect his brother and restore the balance. Unlike most heroes (let alone War), Death pretty much doesn’t give a damn about rules, which is common with anti-heroes. But then his, well, Death. Still, Death is a badass hero and has many was to kill his enemies.

Honorable Mentions:
Optimus Prime (Transformers FOC)
Black Rock Shooter (BRS)
Ryu, Chun-li, Jin, and King (Street Fighter X Tekken)
Patroklos (SCV)

#1 Batman (The Dark Knight Rises)
“Not everything. Not yet.”
It’s no surprise that the Dark Knight would be on this list. His been into hiding for eight years after the events in “The Dark Knight”. He then reemerges to stop Bane and Talia from destroying Gotham with a bomb. He then uses The Bat (an aircraft) to haul the bomb away from the city. He was presumed dead but is honored as a hero. Batman not only puts the fear in criminals, but also gives hope for the people of Gotham. Like Spider-Man, I’ve known Batman since the cartoon in the 90’s. He’s not only legendary, but also and still is DC’s well-known Superhero.

Side note: Before I finish this, here’s a small quote from John and Gordon at the end of the film
John:”I mean, no one’s ever gonna know who saved an entire city.”
Gordon:”They know. It was the Batman.”
